Our goal is to create spaces that truly support the way you live while making the process as smooth and stress-free as possible. We know that building or renovating a home can feel overwhelming at times, which is why we're here to guide you, answer your questions, and help you navigate every step along the way. We want the journey to be just as rewarding as the finished result.

Community is at the heart of our values. We believe that the spaces we create have the power to bring people together, strengthen relationships, and create a sense of belonging. From our first conversation to the final reveal, we aim to build genuine connections and foster community every step of the way.

We are Laura & Rodrigo, the couple behind Telar Design and Build. We are architects by training, builders by practice, and Philadelphians at heart.

Our work brings together design, craftsmanship, and construction into one collaborative process, weaving multiple disciplines into homes that feel thoughtful, cohesive, and deeply personal. In Spanish, telar means “loom,” a reflection of how we work and the family foundation behind the studio, with the name formed from our family’s initials.

With Argentine roots, we both studied architecture in Buenos Aires and began our careers designing and building homes, commercial spaces and restaurants. For more than fifteen years, we have been working in design and construction, shaping how we think about space, material, and detail.

We moved to Brewerytown in 2020 and have spent the last several years falling in love with Philadelphia’s neighborhoods and rowhouses. We understand what makes these homes special, and how carefully they need to evolve to support modern life. That balance between preservation and functionality is at the core of our work.

Today, Telar is a small team of four. We intentionally stay small so we can remain closely involved in every project from start to finish.

This city is our home, where we are raising our children, and these projects are deeply personal to us. We hope they feel that way to you too.
